MAP Movement Therapy in Capalaba

Move better. Feel better. Live better.

MAP Movement Therapy (Myofascial Activated Posture) is a revolutionary approach to movement and chronic pain management  created to help your body move the way it was designed to.

Unlike traditional exercise or stretching, MAP Movement Therapy focuses on how your body connects, breathes, and functions as a whole. It’s about restoring natural movement, improving posture, and relieving long-standing tension by working with the body’s fascia not against it.

What is MAP Movement Therapy?

MAP stands for Myofascial Activated Posture. A science-based movement method designed to rehydrate, realign, and re-energise your body through mindful, functional movement.

Developed with physiotherapists and fascia specialists, MAP Movement Therapy combines:

  • Diaphragmatic breathing to improve oxygen flow and body awareness.
  • Hydrating tools (like foam rollers and reflex balls) to stimulate fascia.
  • Multi-directional movement to restore balance and mobility.

It’s not about pushing harder, it’s about reconnecting your body and mind so you can move freely, efficiently, and without pain.

Who is MAP Movement Therapy for?

MAP Movement Therapy is suitable for people of all ages and abilities, especially those who:

If you’ve tried traditional physio, stretching, or gym-based programs with limited relief, MAP Movement Therapy offers a completely new approach.

The Benefits of MAP Movement

  • Enhanced mobility: Release restriction and move more freely.
  • Improved posture: Build awareness of alignment and balance.
  • Increased strength: Strengthen from within, not just the surface muscles.
  • Pain relief: Address the root causes of tension, not just the symptoms.
  • Better body awareness: Learn to move in ways that feel natural and sustainable.

Getting Started with MAP Movement

To ensure MAP Movement is right for you, all participants begin with an initial assessment with Celine, our trained MAP Movement practitioner and physiotherapist.

This one-on-one session allows us to:

  • Understand your movement history and goals.
  • Assess posture, strength, and flexibility.
  • Identify fascia tension patterns contributing to pain or imbalance.
  • Create a personalised plan before you join group classes.

After your assessment, you can join our small-group MAP Movement Classes held at our Capalaba clinic.

MAP Movement & Chronic Pain

Chronic pain isn’t just a muscle issue. It often stems from fascia restrictions, poor posture, or compensatory movement patterns. MAP Movement addresses these underlying causes by retraining your body to move naturally again.

Many clients notice improvement in:

  • Back pain and stiffness
  • Neck and shoulder tension
  • Hip or knee discomfort
  • General fatigue or body tightness

If you’ve been living with persistent pain, MAP Movement may be the missing link in your recovery.
